Ontario International Airport posts May 2017 statistics

ONTARIO, Calif. - June 22, 2017 -- Airline passenger traffic at Ontario International Airport (ONT) increased 7.3 percent in May 2017 compared with the same month in 2016. In May 2017, the airport served a total of 390,516 passengers compared with 364,063 in May 2016.
Domestic passenger traffic in May 2017 totaled 377,607, an increase of 6.9 percent over 353,181 in the same month the previous year. International passenger traffic increased 16.6 percent from 10,882 in April 2016 to 12,909 in May 2017.
For the first five months of 2017, domestic passenger traffic jumped 6.5 percent from 1,638,353 in 2016 to 1,745,295 in 2017. International passenger traffic increased 0.7 percent in the five-month period from 54,367 in 2016 to 54,727 in 2017. Overall, passenger traffic in the five-month period increased 6.3 percent from 1,692,720 in 2016 to 1,800,022 in 2017.
Air cargo freight handled increased 24.3 percent from 39,593 tons in May 2016 to 49,231 tons in May 2017. In the first five months of 2017, air cargo freight handled increased 14.6 percent from 205,349 tons in 2016 to 235,278 tons in 2017.
