ONT+ Visitor Pass Program
Did you know Ontario International Airport has a free program that lets approved visitors go through security even when they're not traveling? Through the ONT+ Visitor Pass Program, visitors without plane tickets can clear TSA screening and go upstairs in both terminals to spend time with traveling loved ones, attend an event or just do some plane spotting while enjoying food at one of ONT's great restaurants.
Step 1: Apply Online
There is a quick, free, online process to apply for an ONT+ Visitor Pass.
You can apply for a pass on the day of your visit or up to seven days in advance. If you can't select a date or start time on the online form, that means visitor slots have reached capacity for that particular day or start time.
Provide your date of birth, sex and full legal name exactly as it appears on your TSA-approved photo ID (e.g., passport or driver’s license). You’ll receive a confirmation email verifying that your request has been received!
REAL ID: If you plan to use your state-issued ID or license, make sure it is REAL ID-compliant. If you're unsure whether your ID complies with REAL ID, check with your state department of motor vehicles.
Step 2: Get TSA's Approval
Your request will be reviewed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
- If you’re applying in advance: You’ll receive an email with your approval status after midnight on the day of your visit.
- If you’re applying for same-day entrance: You’ll receive an email with your approval status within 15 minutes.
Step 3: Show off your ONT Visitor Pass
If approved for entry, you’ll receive your ONT+ Visitor Pass attached to your approval notification email. When you enter the TSA Checkpoint, you'll present the approval email and ONT+ Visitor Pass attachment to TSA upon request, along with your TSA-approved photo ID. Make sure to tell the TSA Officer that you have an ONT+ Visitor Pass when presenting your photo ID.
ONT+ Visitor Pass participants must enter the approved passenger terminal (T2 or T4) using the TSA Checkpoint general screening line. Entry is restricted from the approved start time through the end of daily operating hours.
Program and Security Information
- You must present your ONT+ approval email and ONT+ Visitor Pass attachment to TSA upon request, along with your TSA-approved photo ID.
- ONT+ visitors are subject to the same security regulations as passengers boarding an aircraft and must comply with TSA’s screening procedures, including not bringing items prohibited by TSA and complying with the 3-1-1 Liquids Rules.
- At this time, expedited screening and trusted traveler programs, such as the TSA PreCheck and CLEAR programs, cannot be used with the ONT+ Visitor Pass.
- ONT+ Visitor Pass availability is limited, with availability at both passenger terminals (T2 and T4) granted on a first-come, first-served basis and all access subject to TSA approval.
- The ONT+ Visitor Pass is a permanent program. In response to exigent circumstances or operational needs, Ontario International Airport reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel the program, cancel approved ONT+ Visitor Passes or modify program rules at any time without prior notice.
