Ontario International Airport posts December 2016 Statistics

ONTARIO, Calif. - Jan. 26, 2017 -- Airline passenger traffic at Ontario International Airport (ONT) increased 4.4 percent in December 2016 compared with the same month in 2015. In December 2016, the airport served a total of 374,041 passengers compared with 358,416 in December 2015.
Domestic passenger traffic in December 2016 totaled 361,1425, an increase of 5.5 percent over 342,452 in the same month the previous year. International passenger traffic decreased from 15,964 in December 2015 to 12,899 in December 2016, a 19.2 percent decline.
For the the full calendar year 2016, ONT served 4,251,903 passengers, an increase of 0.8 percent from 4,217,366 in the same period in 2015.
The top four airlines in 2016 based on passenger count were Southwest Airlines (2,417,953), American Airlines (823,209), Alaska Airlines (369,985) and United Airlines (336,926).
Air cargo freight handled at ONT increased 6.0 percent from 58,829 tons in December 2015 to 62,341 tons in December 2016. For all of 2016, air cargo freight tons handled jumped 12.5 percent from 483,010 tons in 2015 to 543,328 tons in 2016.
