Navigation & Signage Upgrades
Easier Navigation & Improved Signage
What's Happening & Why
Navigational signs in both terminals were all installed in 1998 and had not been upgraded since.
Signs in Terminal 2 and in Terminal 4 are now being taken down and replaced to provide clearer direction to gates, amenities and other key locations in the airport. They’re also being upgraded to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility guidelines and other applicable state and local codes.
Timeline: Work on navigational signs in the terminals is underway and will continue in phases through summer 2026.
Benefits: Once all signs are replaced, it will make navigation throughout both terminals easier for passengers, workers and everyone who comes through ONT — including those with disabilities.

Some areas of the terminals will be briefly blocked off as crews install new signage. However, this work is generally taking place between midnight and 3 a.m., so there will be as few disruptions for travelers as possible.
Thanks for your patience as these upgrades are underway!
