The HUB Logistics Complex
Building The HUB Logistics Complex
What's Happening & Why
ONT has leased 215 acres it owns just east of the airport to private developer CanAm Ontario for construction of The HUB. When complete, the complex will include nine warehouses totaling 4.3 million square feet of logistics space that will support goods movement, generate revenue and create jobs for the region.
CanAm Ontario is building warehouses that range in size from 200,000 to 930,000 square feet each. These nine warehouses are being leased to companies to support the region’s ever-growing logistics needs.
The HUB is one of the first large-scale developments in Southern California to incorporate innovative materials that reduce how much concrete the project is using, generating 44,000 fewer tons of carbon than traditional warehouse centers of similar size.
CanAm will also be making public improvements to all major roadways in the area to facilitate access to the complex and ease traffic flow for all residents.
Timeline: A groundbreaking ceremony for the project took place on July 18, 2024. Four of the nine buildings are complete, with the remainder expected by mid-2026.
Benefits: The HUB complex will bring new jobs to Ontario and support fast, reliable goods movement throughout the region and beyond. The city of Ontario also will see property and sales tax benefits thanks to property improvements and employees working at The HUB who’ll be spending money at nearby businesses. And even before tenants move into these warehouses, ONT will start to see steady annual revenue in the form of lease payments, which will benefit everyone who relies on the airport.
