Airport Drive Upgrades

Smoother Rides on Airport Drive

Driving to the airport just got even easier, after crews repaved Airport Drive in front of Ontario International Airport. They also completed some underground infrastructure improvements along the way, to ensure safe navigation in the area and that ONT is ready for the future.

What Happened & Why

Pavement was removed and replaced across all lanes of Airport Drive, in front of ONT, from Haven Avenue west to the Cucamonga Channel.

While the roadway was torn up, crews took advantage of the chance to also install a new underground pipeline for recycled water, which will allow ONT to use recycled water for future irrigation projects around the airport campus.

Timeline: Work began in mid-2025 and was completed in January 2026.

Benefits: With the project complete, everyone who uses the roadway can expect a smooth route for years to come, while future landscaping projects will be more sustainable and affordable for ONT.
